Description
A 5-ton steam driven steel derrick unloading cane from a sugar cane truck at the Iberia Sugar Co-op , New Iberia , Louisiana . A truck of cane such as this one carries on the average of 15-20 tons of cane and the farmer this year receives $7.50 per ton . On a good day a cane farmer might average as many as 15 truckloads of cane .
