Description
Monthly deliveries of Esso fuel oil , gasoline kerosene are made to the island of Mano , four miles off the coast of Jutland , by a tank truck from the storage plant at Ebsjerg . During ebb tide the sea between Mano and the mainland is low enough so that the loaded truck can cross in about half and hour following a track m marked by dead tress pushed into the sand bottom . After each trip the truck is washed thoroughly to prevent salt water corrosion . Fuel oil is pumped into underground tanks at the dairy , gas and kerosene are delivered in metal containers . Farmers watch the Esso truck driver , Borge Bay Jensen , fill a drum with gasoline .
