, was
Kentucky's
first
picturesque
cemetery
.
Land
for the
cemetery
was
purchased
in
1845
, and
Robert
Carmichael
was
hired
to
do
the
landscaping
. A
man
is
sitting
on the
cliff
adjacent
to a
walk
which
stops
at a
wooden
gate
and
stone
wall
.
One
of
two
very
dramatic
features
of the
original
plan
, the
walk
is
now
gone
.
