Description
Men unloading bananas in a warehouse . Men stand by conveyor belts and dollies ; bunches of bananas lay on the conveyor belts . There are piles of bananas on the ground and on carts . Text printed on verso reads , "At New Orleans , the world's greatest banana port , more than 700 ships arrive each year loaded , each with 25,000 to 50,000 bunches of this popular fruit . At the banana wharves , the individual bunch is carried from the hold of the ship to the door of the refrigerator car on mechanical conveyors. " Made by E.C . Kropp Co. , number 23213N . Postmarked 1933 on verso .
