Description
Jim Patterson Stadium , front entrance . The Cardinal Bird logo is featured on the two "towers " anchoring the corners . A sculpture made of three oversized bats stands in front of the entrance , and two large baseballs that give the appearance of being mainly embedded and hidden in the concrete are seen in the foreground . There is a banner over the entranceway noting UofL's first appearance in the NCAA College World Series . Built partially on the site of the old Louisville and Nashville Railroad YMCA , which was later the site of American Air Filter's office building . Named in honor of Jim Patterson , UofL alumnus and benefactor . Location : Belknap Campus : 3015 South Third Street . Current uses : Baseball facility . Awards won : 2005 Award of Honor , Kentuckiana Associated Builders and Contractors Chapter . Square footage : 5283 .
