Description
A group of students (perhaps members of the Deja-vu staff) pose at the entrance of Otter Hall , which housed student publication offices at the time . Another "barracks building " is visible in the background . One of the Naval Barracks , it was moved to accommodate construction of Schneider Hall in 1955 . It was relocated to the site of present-day Chemistry Building and razed in 1979 . Named in honor of Bethel Veech Otter , Speed School graduate , who was killed in May , 1942 , in defense of Corrigidor . He was a 1937 Naval Academy graduate . Location : Belknap Campus : Originally located between the Administration Building and Gardiner Hall at current site of Schneider Hall ; razed to accommodate the current Chemistry Building . Former uses : Navy dormitory ; Cardinal office and student publications ; performance research ; Thinker office ; vocational education .
