Description
Belknap Gymnasium , a large brick building . One section of the building has a slanted roof ; a smaller section has a flat roof . Doors are visible on two sides of the structure . A tree is visible to the side ; it is leafless . A Gulf Oil sign rises in the background . The Belknap Gymnasium was built as a WPA project during the Great Depression of the 1930s . Location : Belknap Campus : South/Central campus (near site of present-day Lutz Hall) . This building was razed in 1993 to make way for Lutz Hall . Former uses : Home arena for men's basketball , 1931-1944 ; had 600 bleacher seats .
