Originally named for Peter Caldwell , Louisville Industrial School superintendent for 45 years . Location : Belknap Campus : Central/South campus . Current uses : A&S Political Science ; McConnell Center for Political Leadership . Named in honor of Arthur Younger Ford , seventh president of the University of Louisville . Former names : Caldwell Building ; Women's Building ; Moses Building . Former uses : Ford Hall served as a cafeteria and lounge for staff members , circa 1945 ; Computer Center ; McConnell Center (opened 10/5/1993 , moved to Ekstrom Library , 2006) ; Home Economics Department ; Secondary and Curriculum Teaching ; Women's Dorm ; housed library and alumni rooms ; College Library , 1925-1927 ; faculty cafeteria ; student snackbar ; female dormitory for the Louisville Industrial School of Reform ; Graduate School .
