"The Villa Farnesina , which some scholars think was built by Agrippa in 21 B.C . to celebrate his marriage to Julia , daughter of the emperor Augustus , displayed one of the most refined examples of Roman domestic decoration . It is dated to the transitional period between the Roman Republic and the Imperial Age , which coincides with the transition from the Second to the Third Pompeian Style. " (p.110)
