Description
"The
Hall
of the
Colossus
was
deliberately
set
in the
northeast
corner
of the
Forum
, at the
end
of the
large
western
portico
, in the
typical
position
of the
sacelli
closely
linked
to
basilicas
, as in the
provincial
complexes
. But in this
context
the
chamber
was
devoted
to the
cult
of the
emperor
,
though
with a
specific
significance
. The
space
is
characterized
by a
vertical
development
emphasized
by the
relevant
smallness
of its
site
(12
x
13
meters
,
giving
a
total
of
156
square
meters)
".
