Description
"In his
own
art
[…]
Stieglitz
had
moved
quite
sharply
away
from the
pictorialism
of his
early
work
toward
ever-more
'straight'
photography
-
that
is
,
toward
photographs
that
look
like
photographs
,
free
of
lens
or
darkroom
manipulations
designed
to
make
them
resemble
paintings
. To
achieve
the
blurring
so
prized
by the
pictorialists
,
Stieglitz
simply
waited
until
atmospheric
conditions
allowed
it
to be
recorded
and
developed
with
normal
equipment
and
procedures.
