Description	"In his own art […] Stieglitz had moved quite sharply away from the pictorialism of his early work toward ever-more 'straight' photography - that is, toward photographs that look like photographs, free of lens or darkroom manipulations designed to make them resemble paintings. To achieve the blurring so prized by the pictorialists, Stieglitz simply waited until atmospheric conditions allowed it to be recorded and developed with normal equipment and procedures."
