Description	"Dali's famous 'melting clocks' in The Persistence of Memory portray the uncanny quality of certain dreams. In a stark, oddly illuminated landscape, a number of elements referring to time - watches, eggs, a dead fish, a dead tree - are juxtaposed with a single living fly and swarming ants. Displaced from an unidentified location onto the eerie landscape are two rectangular platforms at the left. The one in the foreground impossibly supports a tree, just as an impossible system of lighting produces strange color combinations."
