Orozco

worked

United
States

stayed
there from
1927
to
1934

during
which
time
he
carried
out
important
mural
assignments
at
Pomona
College
in
California
and the
New
School
for
Social
Research
in
New
York
, as
well
as in the
Baker
Library
at
Dartmouth
College
. In the
climactic
scene
reproduced
here, from a
panoramic
series
on the
history
of the
Americas
, a
Resurrected
Christ
takes
an
ax
to his
own
Cross
in the
ruins
of a
self-destroyed
Machine
Age.
