Description	One of the Piraeus bronze statues; "The statue of the large Artemis reflects a different conception of the goddess, that of a serious young woman, in which her role as huntress is indicated only by the position of the fingers holding the bow and arrow, and the quiver on her back. The statue is attributed to the sculptor Euphranor on the basis of similarities with the Apollo Patroos in the Agora." (Caption, p. 329); "The height and modeling of the robust female body and drapery, and the rather theatrical frontality and the over-emphasis on the contrast in the figure, call to mind the work of the sculptor and painter Euphranor, the main representative of the classicizing trend which, about the middle of the 4th century BC, sought to reurn to more robust, earthy figures […]."
