Description
A car travels along a dirt road towards the Jefferson Davis Memorial , on the right side of the road . On the left side of the road is a church . Handwritten on border of negative "Fairview , Ky . Road between Russellsville & Hopkinsville showing Davis Memorial " The memorial , a 351 foot concrete obelisk , commemorates the birthplace of Davis , the President of the self-proclaimed Confederate States of America . The monument was built between 1907 and 1924 and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 .
