Description
In the Forestry building at the World's Fair in St . Louis , Missouri , arches made of small logs spell out "Kentucky " connect tree trunk pillars in a large room with a metal-beamed ceiling . There are displays in the background . One display of wooden handles includes the words "[Turner] , Day & Woolworth Handle Co . Louisville , Ky. " and another with baseball bats includes the words "[Louisville] Slugger made by [J . F.] Hillerich & Son , Louisville , Ky. " Over 200 varieties of wood native to Kentucky were displayed in this exhibit , which won 22 medals . Stamped on verso : Tinsley Eng . Co. , Sep 12 1904 , Louisville , - KY .
