The shield is surrounded by ornamental flourishes inside a rectangular border . Inside the border and above the design are the words "Louisville Free Public Library. " At the bottom is the phrase "In Memoriam " followed by the name "L . Amelia Coldewey. " Brown ink . Signed Hewett with four-digit year .
