Description |
Port side bow view of KATE ADAMS. KATE ADAMS (Way #3216), a side-wheel packet with wood hull (250 ft. x 36 ft. x 8.5 ft.), was built in 1888 at Howard Ship Yard and Dock Company in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Owned by Memphis & Arkansas City Packet Company in Memphis, KATE ADAMS (Way #3216) operated on the lower Mississippi River. KATE ADAMS (Way #3216) was sold to Chalmette Packet Co. and renamed DEWEY (Way #1527) in 1898. Sold again in 1902 and renamed LOTUS SIMS (Way #3572). Burned at St. Louis on October 28, 1903. |
