Description |
Men building a steel hulled dredge on the grade at Howard shipyard in Port Fulton (now Jeffersonville), Indiana. The stern wheeler CARRIE HOPE, undergoing renovation, is tied up next to the barge at the bank of the Ohio River. A large supply of timber logs also floats along the shore. The CARRIE HOPE was built by Howard in 1879 and was eventually lost in ice at Louisville, Kentucky in February, 1895. |
