Bow and port side of ELECTRA, nearing completion, at the bank of Ohio River at Howard Shipyard. ELECTRA, a stern-wheel packet with wood hull (170 ft. x 35 ft. x 5.5 ft.), was built by Howard in 1897. Owned by Red River Line, ELECTRA operated on the Red River initially, and later on both the Cumberland and Missouri Rivers before moving to Mobile, Alabama. At night, the large star between her stacks and the sign in front of her pilot house were illuminated.
