We were shocked when we received the word from the mother of Jesse Green
Moore of the death of Jesse Green. He was a graduate of the class of 1941. Jesse
was a lst Lt. and was killed in action, Dec,22, 1944 in Belgium. Jesse was surv~ved
by his wife, the former Miss Cora Newball of Crescent City, Florida, one son, David
Michael Moore, his mother, Mrs. w. L, Moore, five sisters and one brother, I know
all who knew Jesse will be saddened by this report and will miss Jesse,
Mr. Boaz (Shad's father) wrote that they have heard nothing new concerning
Shad but ~ecently some of Slwd's personal belongings were returned to the family.
There is still hope for Shad's return.
With the collapse of Germany we are wondering about Wa lter Chyle. We hope
that he will soon be released and will be safe ·and sound. We pray that the war will
soon be over and that you who · are in the Service will be able to return to civilian
life and t
