Full-length character portrait of actress Elita Proctor Otis in costume for the role of La Frochard in "The Two Orphans " which was performed at Macauley's Theatre in November 1904 . She is seated , holding a bottle and wearing a hat , black dress , apron , and grumpy facial expression . Born in Cleveland , Ohio , in 1851 , Otis died August 10 , 1927 in Pelham , New York . She also starred in "The Crust of Society " (November 1893) and "The Girl from Rector's " (December 1909) at Macauley's Theatre . Inscription on print , lower center : Sincerely Elita Proctor Otis .
