Description |
A male student with a wooden crutch in his left hand. It is probably Hugh Mobley, a crippled student whose family sold everything and moved to Oneida because they feared their son would not be able to make a living without an education. Mr. Mobley died when Hugh was in the third grade and financial circumstances forced his mother to move away two years later, but Reverend Burns allowed Hugh to board at the Oneida Baptist Institute for five more years until he graduated.
