Description
A dead swan lies on the ground in front of a twisted tree and limbs . Two damaged buildings are in the background . The damage was caused by the tornado that hit Louisville , Kentucky , on March 27 , 1890 . The tornado killed an estimated 100 people and many more were injured . Caption reads "On line of N.Y.C . [New York Central] and H.R.R.R . [Hudson River Railroad Company]. "
