Description
Commissioned in 1848 by the Kentucky State Legislature , this monument to honor Kentucky veterans of all wars was built by Robert E . Launitz of New York . It was brought by barge to Frankfort , Kentucky , and completed in 1850 . Only the top of the monument is visible through the trees . It is located in the middle of the Frankfort Cemetery in Franklin County , Kentucky .
