Description
Belknap Gymnasium at the University of Louisville . A taller portion and a doorway are visible ; a lower section is partially obscured by a tree . There are cars pariked in handicapped parking spaces in front . Belknap Gym was built as a WPA project during the Great Depression of the 1930s . Location : Belknap Campus : South/Central campus (near site of present-day Lutz Hall) . This building was razed in 1993 to make way for Lutz Hall . Former uses : Home arena for men's basketball , 1931-1944 ; had 600 bleacher seats .
